Breakdown/analysis/thoughts on Cody vs. Cody video (Poongko)
0:30 - Cody has the ability to control the length of time he holds onto the stone (with the Bad Stone move) before tossing it. This is going to allow for more options.
0:46 - Cody picks up the knife, but jumps into an EX Criminal Upper and loses it immediately. It seems it is very easy to lose the knife. I'm wondering if it is a Claw-style system (blocks and hits) or simply number of hits, or damage that causes Cody to lose the knife.
0:52 - Blocking Cody's normals when he has the knife causes chip damage (seen again @ 1:35).
0:55 - With the knife, Cody either gets more hitstun, leading to more links, or some of his attacks become chainable (notice the five hit combo).
0:59 - Using Cody's first Ultra will cause him to discard the knife behind him. This is going to be a massive advantage if you connect with the Ultra, as it puts you in good position to get the knife again.
1:35 - Another example of chip damage being done against blocking characters when Cody uses his normal moves with the knife.
1:38 - Cody is hit one time with what looks to be a j.HK and then loses the knife. It now seems the response to the question @ 0:46 is that one hit is all it takes to make Cody lose the knife.
1:41 - Cody shows that he can cancel out of the Bad Stone.
1:48 - Again, a single hit (again a j.HK) causes Cody to lose the knife.
2:07 - A blocked Criminal Upper seems to put Cody at enough frame disadvantage to allow for a cr.MP from Cody.
2:43 - A j.HK looks like it will cross up opponents.
3:01 - Example of the Ultra name being shown when executed (look above the Super meter, in this case, it is Cody's 2nd Ultra, Last Dread Dust). Also, when defending against this Ultra, you have to be aware of the followup to the dust kick with the wrench and pipe. The other Cody tries to Focus Attack which ends up absorbing one hit, but then the next hit breaks the Focus Attack and the Ultra completes.
