How can I punish Adon's Jaguar Tooth with Cody?

When I play versus Adons they usually do alot of Jaguar Tooth, where he jumps from the wall.

Is there something I can do to punish it on block?

Sometimes I do HK Ruffian Kick but that gets baited so I usually try to block it instead.

When I successfully block it creates an awkward situation where I get thrown, get hit by the  Rising Jaguar (his DP move) or hit low if i try to throw.

Adon's Jaguar Tooth has the following frame disadvantages on block:

Move Frame Advantage on Block
LK Jaguar Tooth -4
MK Jaguar Tooth -1
HK Jaguar Tooth -2
EX Jaguar Tooth -2

Cody is very limited here, as he has no moves which have a one or two frame startup, so he has no real response to the MK, HK, or EX Jaguar Tooth.

However, if you know that the LK Jaguar Tooth was done, then Cody has the following options (because the startup is equal to or less than the -4 frame disadvantage that the LK Jaguar Tooth has; remember, the last active frame is the first startup frame, which is why you look for values less than and equal to 4):

Move Startup Damage Stun Meter Gain
Close Light Punch 4 30 50 20
Close Light Kick 4 30 50 20
Far Light Punch 3 30 50 20
Crouch Light Punch 4 20 50 20
Crouch Light Kick 4 20 50 20
Knife Standing Light Punch 4 40 50 20
Knife Crouching Light Punch 3 40 50 20
Forward Throw 3 130 140 40
Back Throw 3 130 120 40

Note the ones in bold, as they require having the knife.

Based on the table above, the best move to use would be the Forward Throw, it does the highest damage and meter gain values among all the viable options, tying only with the Back Throw.  However, the Forward Throw has 140 stun versus the 120 stun for the Back Throw, which puts the Forward Throw on top.

However, it has to be stressed again that these options are only for the LK Jaguar Tooth, so you will have to make the determination based on the angle that Adon comes off the wall.  Otherwise, your best bet is to block and/or a throw option select.

You have to release the zonk knuckle before adon hits you. It has worked for me so far.

I tested on LK and EX Rising Jaguar as follow up and dashing backwards gets hit.

Charging a zonk and releasing it as a reversal will make Cody go under an Adon LK Rising Jaguar.

As a Cody player the way I deal with that particular situation is to either dash back or have a Zonk Knuckle (hold any punch button and release) ready for him. The Zonk Knuckle is a solid move that gives Cody a few frames of invincibility on start up but is vulnerable to throws and crouching attacks.

If you're not near a corner you can try back dashing after the initial block of the Jaguar Tooth and retaliating with his MK Ruffian Kick. It should catch him whiffing a throw attempt if he goes for one. If he goes for a Rising Jaguar after you back dash you can punish him in a few different ways such as cr. MP HP Criminal Upper, cr. MP MK Ruffian Kick, cr. LK MK Ruffian Kick the list goes on and on. Basically back dashing gives you some breathing room to watch and retaliate to what he does next. Hope this helps!
