Struggling with executing Guy's Ultra 2 (Bushin Muso Renge)

With the release of Super Street Fighter 4,  I switched my main from Sagat to Guy, and I've been having a ton of fun with him.

After using Guy's Ultra 1 (Bushin Goraisenpujin), and seeing just how lame and powerless it was I decided to just bite the bullet and stick with his Ultra 2 as my default choice when playing Guy.

 

With that said, I cant seem to reliably pull it off when I want to pull it off.  The most success I have when landing it is on wake-up, catching my opponent off guard.  Other than that, I can't really seem to connect it under any other circumstances.

 

What are the best ways to set up and to execute Guy's Ultra 2?

I believe the damage difference is in the vacinity of 60 points. Not much at all, and the opportunities are so limited. It sux.

I only use Ultra 2 just because it does more damage..the easiest way to do it is to focus attack and after it hits, you dash forward and execute it...thats how it works for me

I guess its a few things... esthetically I really like the way the U2 looks, as opposed to the U1.  Additionally, it does significantly more damage than the u1 (I havent actually looked at the numbers to determine the exact difference).


On the other hand, the fact that im not using the ultra as often as id like to , its almost like im shooting myself in the foot, because its Free damage, as opposed to missed opportunities trying to pull of the U2.

I know this isn't really answering your question but: How is his Ultra I bad? You can combo it decently andywhere on screen and in the corner you have really good options for it. It also does good damage. So where's the problem?

His Ultra II on the other hand is a grab ultra that you can jump out of. It looks cool, but that's about it.
