New parts for MadCatz TE Fight stick
I was on Lizard Lick Amusements the other day and I was looking for new buttons/joysticks for my fight stick. The apparent best choice are the sanwa parts that are "reccommended" for modding the SE Stick.
I was just wondering if those will work just the same on my TE. I'm assuming they will, but I just want to make sure.
NOTE: I already own the TE, but I feel that the parts are starting to fail me; which is why I'm curious if the "suggested" parts to mod the SE with will work fine on my TE (i.e. will the quality be the same)

You should have no problem with using the Sanwa parts in your SE stick. The connector ends are standardized, as are the sizes (you might have to do some work with fitting the buttons, but not much, if at all) so it should literally be a plug-and-play operation.
What I would be more concerned about is the gate assembly on the SE stick. It's a different one from the TE fightstick and I find it to be much more limiting than the gate on the TE edition.
Also, I would argue that unless you are doing it for the purposes of just getting modding experience, I'd buy the TE stick outright. While you definitely save a little (IMO, it's not worth it) money in getting the parts and making the changes yourself, the ergonomics (namely, the size, shape and weight) of the TE stick is one of its main selling points.
When using an SE stick, I find my wrists are usually at a slight angle so the corners of the stick don't apply pressure to the insides of my wrists. With the TE stick, given how wide it is, I can use my hands straight and still have some margin on both sides to account for various motions I'll perform with the stick.
Also, there's something to be said about the ubiquity of the TE stick. If you go to a tournament without a stick, then you will more than likely be able to borrow/bum one off someone else there (most people are pretty good about this, assuming you don't steal/abuse it, but of course, everyone is different, so don't expect it). In that case, there's a good chance it's going to be the TE stick. If you use a TE stick in the first place, then it's going to feel more familiar in your hands, and should help to lessen tournament anxiety to some degree.
Also, with the emergence of the Super Street Fighter 4 TE sticks, you will more than likely be able to get one of the original TE fightsticks, which will serve your purposes just fine.
