xbox360/ps3 arcade stick?

Ok, can someone explain this to me. I'm about to buy a ps3 arcade stick. I've already done my research, but I can't afford to buy 2. I see that some tournaments are played on the 360 and others on the ps3. I already know the sticks aren't cross-console compitable, but I've been wondering if there's a adapter sold or do tournies players simply have to buy a stick for both consoles?

Another quick question. What console do most tournies play SSFIV on? Seems like the ps3 as evo seems to host it on.

I too didn't have the money to buy both, so with some searching online, I found a way to allow a stick to work for BOTH.

I bought a 360 stick and was able to find a mod to allow for 360 and PS3 compatibility. Look at the various boards offered by Toodles. With this, I've got my stick able to play on 360 and PS3, and with another mod, I can use it on Wii/GC and more.

http://shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=184787&highlight= - this thread has lots of info on it. My stick was an SE, but it should work in a TE, just change the board placement in the housing a little. Bomberman did my mod and it works great.

This was more than a year ago, and at the time you had to start with a 360 stick as the base.. maybe buying a PS3 stick could be modded to allow 360 compatibility now?

Hope this helps!

Alot of tourneys are on 360. Usually community-based events since a great portion of gamers have sf4 on 360. Sponsored or Capcom events have been using PS3s lately for the reliability. Red Rings are not uncommon at tourneys.

But as for sticks. I would get the 360 version of the Mad Catz TE, due to its mod-friendlier innards. I have a PS3 stick and it requires the parts from a 360 pad to dual-mod it.
