dpad troubles
once again please dont say to me use the arcade stick im not switching untill some1 wants to donate 1 to me lol but i just want to know if any 1 else shares my problem which is alot of moves dont seem to come out or it feels like im putting in the right inputs but they dont actually come out right such as
fadc doesnt actually dash when i clearly watch and feel my thumb press the correct buttons
mid-air tatsu's sometimes come out as n.j or j.f kick
half circle motions back or forward usually end up as a jump in high pressure situations
(Fei Long) rekka ken's sometimes never happen it just ends up c.lp mash
(Fei Long) flame kick fadc chicken wing comes out flame kick focus attack or flame kick fadc forward jump kick
(ryu) srk fadc ultra 2 comes out srk focus attack or srk fadc s.hk (and yes i am hitting the 3 kick button)
(Vega) charge+ up forward kick comes out as charge+forward kick (that damned summersault kick)
most of this i've attributed to too much pressure on the dpad from my thumb because i've had times where im holding down back but i can still slide the dpad upward and characters will jump
the reason i like the dpad is because of how its designed you dont have to move your thumb so far for a motion to come out like on the ps3's dpad because of the spaceing between buttons i've tried the sf fightpad but the dpad is WAY to big for me it just doesn't feel right and i've been thinking of the hori ex 2 fight pad but if any1 has suggestions please let me know here is an axample of what i mean i posted a couple of my matches on youtube as part of my critique series now at 2:13 i try to launch guile with an ex and i try to do the same again at around 2:48 but well you'll see what happens

You probably hear this a lot and are tired of hearing it, but for execution, practice is the best way to go. I myself us a 360 pad and i had the same problem you are having. Moves just dont come out how you want them to. After reading somewhere that jwong practices a combo by hitting training mode and connecting his problem combos/link 100 times on each side. I went ahead and tried that and i got results. Now im able to complete combo/links without vision or sound. I know it may seem wasteful at first, but when your playing and you pull of a problem combo as easy and naturally as it is for you to breath, you'll be glad you did it.
yeah thats where extensive combo training comes in to play. if you can get it to where your brain is only telling your hands to do the combo, rather then your brain focusing on the combo itself, that puts less work on your brain. (similar to a programmable controller) you can then focus on other things like like what you opponent is doing.
i know exactly what you mean for being on the right side. a trick you could use for ryu's ultra 2 on pad(when used in a combo) is to mash out the inputs. because the motion is Qcf kkk, there is no special moves with similar inputs that will come out and interrupt the ultra. this is one of the only times i would advise mashing. but only for the inputs. not KKK
i mean i agree with you but when i go to training its like my mind isnt in the same place as it is when im fighting a real person even if i turn the computer on its just different and i didnt mention this before but something about the right side of the screen makes it hard to pull of certain moves from that side has this happened to you before
take ryu's ultra 2 on the left hand side its simple to pull off but on the right side it almost seems impossible at times i think my thumbs retarded
