What are some common fightstick button layouts?

I just got my first fightstick like 2 weeks ago. The transition with the square-gate joystick was a lot easier then most people suggested. My problem though are grabs and focus attacks. The position seems a bit unnatural. Unlike with a pad, doing ultras and ex attacks manually feel a lot better. So that actually leaves the 2 buttons mostly unused. I usually see a lot of players in tournaments remapping buttons first thing. Are they any common button layouts used or suggestions out there for fightsticks?

a six button control scheme  is the Street fighter standard. however if your talking about what to do with the two extra buttons  you can use them for throwing/ FA/ or even taunting.  just be warned you normally  cant use hot keys*   in large competitions, and arcade cabs only have six buttons. so it would be a good idea not  to get dependent on them if thats what your working towards ;P

*[more than one action bound to a key]

Each Madcatz stick comes with an 8 button layout. for street fighter, the most common layout is 6 buttons. If you are on Xbox 360, disable RB and LB. If you are on PS3, disable L1 and L2. Then you're all set!
