Playing against Dudley as Cody.

I main Ryu and Cody but I always have a problem when ever I match up my Cody with a Dudley player. I always seem to get caught up in the corner or I just get caught up in Dudley's Machine Gun Blow after playing footsies for a while. However, when I play as Ryu I dont seem to have that problem, at least not as much.

So what can I do to help improve my Cody so that I don't get caught in the corner or have to worry about his Machine Gun Blow after some footsies?

DMG Reaper is right, just about every jump should be met with a Jaw Breaker. Also hit the lab and learn to punish those Machine Gun blows. Medium MGBs can a bit tricky with timing since recovery is 4 frames and start up for either a c.LP or c.LK are 4 frames, but you can usually do it then immediately cancel into Criminal Upper.

I personally will do 2 HP Criminal Uppers before a Dudley decides to remove that move from his arsenal. Once you get him with a good punish then switch on the pressure using the suggestions that DMG Reaper made.

Dont' forget to use the Bad Stone every now and then as well.

It's because you simply aren't being aggressive. Dudley can find the holes in a defense, and Cody doesn't have a good defensive game. Cody does have a highly effective pressure game. you should be using cody's frame trap and zoning game.

Every jump in from Dudley should be met with a Jaw Crusher (back + MP).
