Please share any tips for inputting properly Guile's Ultra 1 (or E. Honda's or Balrog's Ultra 1). I was able to do it more or less consistently but lately i keep losing trying to do the proper input.
I'm using a standard Dualshock 3 controller. Thanks

Thanks, i think i didn;t post the quesiton clearly. I'm using a Dualshock 3 but using the analog stick, not the d-pad. I'll try out the tiger knee tip but any other advice is welcome :)
i used a duel shock 3 controller for the entire time i played vanilla. If i had a tip for you, it would be to switch to the analog stick as you start charging your ultra. pulling off the quick back forward motions, or the diagonal charges on the stick, will really spare your thumb some abuse.you should give it a try; it may feel a bit awkward but, you'll get the hang of it.
I am not sure if you are aware of the "tiger knee" shortcut already, but what I do is charge db, then do df, d, db, b, ub + 3K. Essentially after charging db you would do a tiger knee motion, but from df to ub instead.
Hope it helps.
For those pesky charge Ultras on pad sometimes it seems like you know you pushed the right inputs but either a different move comes out or no move at all so my advise would be force it.
What I mean is what I like about the 360 D-pad is you don't have to exactly do all the movements they tell you to in training; for a Shoryuken I don't have to press F, D, DF + LP, I can just tap the space between forward and down and press punch and viola!
The problem with this and charge characters is a little odd; I have a severe problem with Vega's Ultra 1, either he stays crouched or does that damn evasion flip.
Bo back to when I said force it you need to go out of your way to push the right inputs; don't be lazy with it. For all charge characters push your thumb to the end of theD-pad when doing the motions for the Ultra and charge for the time needed.
