changing up wake-up options for Ryu
It seems that even the most scrubby ssf4 player sees a wakeup srk a mile away. people will be consistently trying to bait a srk. This alows them to punish after blocking or moving just out of range. as a relativity new Ryu player, I would like to know how to punish for people who wait just outside the srk range. I'm looking to learn as many different options as i can to keep things fresh, Any and all help will be appreciated! :P

best thing to do when you are waking up and they are sitting there try to bait you into throwing out an srk is just wake up and walk back or sit there then reset your spacing.
the pressure has to come from your opponent after they knock you down to make you srk if they just sit out of range there's no pressure so no need to throw anything out.
you shouldn't be thinking wake-up srk unless they do a bad jump-in (not a safe jump)
-1???
Yeah, if you time your aerial fierce Tatsu properly, you can get about as far as a distant teleport.
Yeah, your best way, but risky, is a cross up, and as Khari said, a Tatsu will do this as it gives you a bit of extra length onto your jump
Best thing to do is go into training, record a DP by Ryu, then practice against it seeing what works, get your spacing right etc
A distanced Hadouken should get your opponent to block, if that's what you want. You might do a Tatsu, but only to mindgame, you'd be punished easily. Perhaps a late aerial attack to get them to block the landing poorly.
I didnt mean on the way up, as that sends you flying, but on the way down, to get to the other side of him for a cross up
