Using Bison's cr.LK vs. cr.LP as a starter to his Scissor Kick

I see a lot of bisons that do the tripple short kick to scissor kick combo, but it seems like doing the combo with jabs intead of shorts does more damage.  What's the reason people use shorts so much with bison..is the startup faster?

1.) It's mainly used because you can delay the cr. shorts ever so slightly to mess with your opponent.

2.) cr. shorts are a 3-frame start up with +1 on block and +4 on hit. Those cr. shorts also have really good range for setting up counter pokes.

3.) cr. jabs are a 4-frame startup with +2 on block and +5 on hit. However the range isn't very good. I only use these for hit-confirms on jump-in's or after a cross-up mk.

4.) The other big thing the cr. shorts are used for are option selects. If an opponent goes for a hit, your OS will counter poke him. That 3-Frame startup stuffs the majority of most pokes. If anything it'll do a quick trade.

ah wait, nm it's because of courch teching, huh?  I thought it was that before, but for some reason I got confused and thought jab came out during crouch tech...  If that's not it though, someone please enlighten me :)
