How come I never see any pro Gen players...?
Besides the fact that he is very different than the other characters, why don't I see any pro Gens? Is he just unbalanced as far as skill, compared to everyone-else or do people just not want to take the time to learn him?

I think the main problem is that his play style changed so much from vanilla to Super. The big thing Gen pros used in vanilla was his hands loop, which would make up about 90% of his game plan. Now, he doesn't have that loop anymore and instead has to be played completely different from before.
Most people were upset with that and thought that Gen sucked now (which is not the case) and just dropped him since they didn't want to start learning everything from scratch again. Also, Gen takes a lot of getting used to with the stance changing inside of combos and all the normals that change with the stance.
It's sad, but players like Yeb, who used to be "famous" for their Gen in vanilla just gave up on him without giving him a real chance.
I personally think Super's Gen is a much better character since he is much more versatile and no longer such a one-trick-pony.
Well I guess I kinda answered my own question then, but thanks for the in depth details, on why. I might start using him just because not many people do lol. It would be nice to say that "I'm the best Gen in SSF4!" :)
Too hard to play and not enough reward. Also, if you turtle like crazy you can win with Gen, but most people don't have that kind of patience. Also, too different from Vanilla Gen.
There's a lot of reasons. It's like why you don't see many Hakan players, for instance.
