As mentioned, you could always just buy another button. However, if you're using a six button layout to play, you can fix it using one of the two buttons not in use. If it is the wires connecting to your MP button that is messed up (which happened to my TE) all you have to do switch the wires for what would be either the all three kicks or punches button and set your in-game controls so it works. If it is the actual button that is broken, then just replace it with a 3x punch or kick button. If you are using an 8 button layout, well then listen to casperOne. Hope this helped

It's super simple and super cheap.

First, you need to get a replacement button.  The MadCatz TE sticks use buttons that are arcade-standard in Japan, so finding replacement parts for them are easy.

The holes for the buttons on the top of the stick will fit either Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbuttons or Seimitsu PS14-KN Pushbuttons (with the latter typically being more configurable, neither of which is over $4 USD).  I'd recommend Focus Attack for parts, as the customer service is excellent there.

That said, once you have the button(s), you can use the allen wrench (it has six sides and looks like an "L") to unscrew the top plate.

With the top plate exposed, you can take the leads off the existing broken button and then pop the button out.

Then, pop the new button in, reconnect the leads and then use the allen wrench to rescrew the top in.

Here's a short video showing exactly how to do it:
