Is Blanka's DF+HK/Beast Slide/Amazon River Run reach too far?

While playing Super Street Fighter 4, in a Blanka vs. Ryu matchup, I'm able to easily punish all fireballs within my range with DF+HK  (Beast Slide/Amazon River Run), almost to the point where it seems unbalanced.

 

With everything else that Blanka has, does that make him an unbalanced character against projectile characters?

I don't think it has too much reach. It gives Blanka a sure way to get around fireballs since he doesn't have anything else to get through them. All he has is the start up frames of the EX versions of his balls *snicker* so it's a viable tool.

If anything, the Ryu player should have learned from getting constantly punished by it to stop throwing fireballs from within the range of Blanka's DF+HK. Eventually he'll learn better footsies.

He's a great character against spammers - and I totally agree that Ryu needs to learn that Blanka has an amazing reach and will try to get him if he can.

It does not reach too far at all. I agree with gturtle343's response. Blanka needs to have that to make him viable for any match to be honest.
